MMUH - HASU (LEVEL 5)

Linham Construction Ltd undertook a significant project at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in the heart of Dublin. This project aimed to transform Level 5 South of the Whitty Building, and the team worked diligently towards achieving this goal. This ambitious venture aimed to establish a Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) alongside The Medicine of Elderly Outpatient Facilities. The HASU was meticulously designed to include six single cubicle wards with support services. At the same time, the outpatient facilities were structured to house clinical rooms, a nurse's office, a treatment room, administrative and reception areas, waiting spaces, and additional support zones.

Faced with the monumental task of integrating these advanced healthcare services within the bustling environment of an operational hospital, Linham Construction, under the project supervision of CMSE as per the stringent requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013, showcased their adeptness. Approximately 26 weeks from its commencement in October 2019, the project demanded precision, adherence to strict safety standards, and minimal disruption to the hospital's daily operations.

Collaborating closely with a team of esteemed professionals, including architects from Scott Tallon Walker, mechanical and electrical engineers from JV Tierney, and fire safety engineers from Maurice Johnson & Partners, Linham Construction overcame the logistical and technical challenges.

Our commitment to safety, zero downtime for hospital services, and ensuring zero effect on existing operations was paramount, aligning with the Mater Hospital's stringent safety objectives and legislative compliance demands. Through innovative construction techniques, rigorous planning, and a steadfast commitment to safety and efficiency, Linham Construction Ltd fulfilled and surpassed the project's rigorous requirements, bolstering our reputation as a leader in the construction of sophisticated healthcare facilities.
